The mechanism in SAS Life Science Analytics Framework 5.3 that triggers a warning message, and ultimately a time-out, for an inactive browser client session is not behaving as designed.

Based on the configured time-out setting (30 minutes by default) for an inactive browser client session, a warning message displays and triggers an internal countdown timer (5 minutes) before the browser window times out and returns to the login window. 

At issue is the amount of time that transpires following the display of the warning message before the session actually times out. 

A minimized browser window can remain “active” and subsequently enable you to continue a session well past the configured time-out setting.

The issue is addressed beginning with SAS^® Life Science Analytics Framework 5.3.1.
